Ways to support your gut health from one mama to another

The Wholesome Mama

Helping you look after your gut health, mama.

Hey friend,

Do you realise that so many sicknesses and diagnoses stem from your gut?

Growing up, I had a gluten and wheat sensitivity. After I ate a bowl of weetbix or pasta, I would instantly feel bloated and sick.

I learned over the years how to heal my gut and it was actually such a simple process.

Here's what I did:

  • I eliminated my food sensitivities for a couple of years (not entirely, but mostly from my diet)
  • I started to eat more whole foods and eliminate processed foods (particularly incorporating sourdough, more vegetables and protein)
  • I began incorporating more fermented foods into my diet to help heal the intestinal lining of my gut
  • I started introducing gluten back into my diet, but as a preference, I choose not to eat a whole lot of gluten.

To this day, I don't react to gluten or wheat as I once did. It amazes me that with a bit of intention around my diet and eating habits, I don't suffer like I once did.

If you're like me and you want some help with your gut health, whether you are pregnant or postpartum, then I would love to support you.

The other night we splurged and bought burgers and fries for dinner (yep, sometimes the Wholesome Mama eats fast food ;)) The next day, I had a really low...
